University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

Applied October 30th. Got deferred.

Accepted in state 32 ACT 3.9 GPA

If you got deferred, can you let us know when you applied?

accepted oos! Congrats to everyone!

deferred, 2330, 4.0, 800 and 790 on 4 subject tests lmao, oos CoE

Really hope i get in lol

Deferred from LSA. OOS, 35 ACT, 3.97 UW GPA, ranked 2nd in class of 467, 9 APs, tons of leadership, some national/state level awards, good essays, strong recs. I am so done.

Weird but it seems like a lot of the truly “perfect” candidates are being deferred and more average ones getting in?

@khaleesi79‌ wow sounds like total bs

Accepted!!! In-State, 34 ACT, 4.0 UW, 5 APs College of Engineering

I haven’t heard back yet. In state. I checked my email and directly on the wolverine access and nothing.

If you got accepted, please post your stats.

You are a great candidate, I’m sure you’ll get in eventually.

@beraksay‌ My son got the same letter. No mention of deferral. Strange. oos and applied Sept. 1st

@khaleesi79 Thats not fair. You can’t possibly be more qualified. Ive lost all hope

deferred. OOS - 33 ACT ; 3.9 g.p.a.

Still nothing, I’m so nervous

My son’s deferral email reads the same, except it does note family ties to the University (he is a double legacy). Still, deferred. OOS candidate.

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Engineering for Fall 2015. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.

While we recognize this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, perhaps particularly so because of your family ties with the University, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2015.

Strong fall semester or trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward them when they become available. Beyond that, we are confident that the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision. The most successful candidates send us only what we require. Please refer to the website https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2080</a> for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next.

We hope your interest in Michigan continues. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.

Sincerely,

Erica L. Sanders
Interim Director
