University of Michigan fall 2020 transfer.

ah, ok. Thanks for the response!

Anyone hear back today?

Has anyone who applied out of state heard back yet?

I got an email today saying that my decision has been updated, but I have an exam later tonight so I decided I’ll just check it later. The bottom of the update email says “we thank you for your interest in the university of michigan.” which sounds like a definite rejection. Did yours say this as well?

@parmar540 when did u submit and who is ur admissions counselor?

@parmar540 I would also like to know that

@timkowalski28 @leonesunny i submitted the day before the deadline and my counselor was rachel taylor

This is odd. Why is everyone who submitted a couple of days before the deadline hearing back before people who submitted a month or two ago? Their application review process confuses me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hey all,

I’m currently a first year student at Lehigh U(about rank 50 nationally). I’m wondering if transferring would be easier considering lehigh is moderately high ranked.

College GPA 3.11 from 14 credits Fall 2019 (C in Calc 3 b/c final average was a 62.5…no curve, everything else was B+ ~ A) and taking another 14 credits currently (only 14 because double science, physics 2/Chem and respective labs). Nearly no Humanities/Grade Booster classes.

HS GPA: 90%(no 4.0 scale for my HS)
SAT: 1520

Applying to CoE CS, since this is a very popular major, should I have any hope at all? All my classes transfer though, so I will fulfill all engineering required prerequisites along with AP creds which I heard is quite important. (~30 transferable credits)

Filled 10 ECs on commonapp, two decent recs (they were confidential so I sure hope they’re good)

I am fairly happy with all of my essays, but Im really worried about my GPA, thoughts please?

I’m just going to say this now. Speculating does nothing but disappoint. Assume you’re getting rejected until you are accepted. University of Michigan Admissions are weird and sporadic. You are out of state so it will be harder to get in.

@RedCar27 true, do you know if there are any trends of higher acceptance rate the earlier you submit?

I don’t believe you’re more likely to be admitted the earlier you apply. Look back at the Winter 2020 Transfer thread as a lot of students who applied later were accepted. Transferring to the school of engineering is straightforward as long as you have the prerequisites. I agree the only thing holding you back would be your GPA.

Just got accepted to LSA as a transfer applicant in state. I submitted my application quite literally a couple hours before Feb 1

@iamomi

Hello!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Would you mind sharing with me your high school and college stats as well as quantity of credit hours and who your admissions counselor was?

If you do mind, all good!
