I like to watch college sports, I have decent grades, I want to play club baseball and basketball, and I’m from NY. What do you guys think? I visited all three and liked all of them.
What do you want to study and what is the relative cost of each school?
Michigan, of course!
I would first wait and see where you get in and what the cost is. If you are fortunate enough to be accepted to all three and can afford them, then you really need to ask yourself what you are looking for. There are big differences between these schools.
Academically, Elon is not in the same league as the other two.
If you’re from NY Michigan is likely to be expensive for you. They don’t necessarily offer a lot of aid to nonresident students.
“College sports” is broad. All three schools are in Division I, but the sports culture at Michigan is really different from the sports culture at Wake, which is in tern different from that of Elon. What do you want out of college sports?
What are “decent” grades? Wake Forest is competitive. So is Michigan, particularly for nonresident students.
Elon’s a great school. It’s not as competitive as Wake, but 95% of the universities in the country aren’t. Elon students are above-average students who largely graduated in the top quarter of their class and achieved above-average scores on the SAT/ACT.
Also, why do you have to decide now? Just apply RD to all three of them.
