Make sure your mid year grades are good. Like really good. Adding some more extracurriculars is great as well. Always add new stuff because colleges want to see what really interest you. Make the application better than the one before. That’s my advice.

So I went to a public high school. SAT 1590. 800 Math, and 790 English. GPA out of a weighted scale so typically a 5.0. It was a 4.79 weighted. Extracurriculars, President of 5 clubs. Clubs consisting of Business related fields as well as a Global relief project that I did because I want to major in International Business at Penn. I took 16 AP classes and scored mostly 5s and a few 4’s on it.

Public school - on the ok side
ACT - 35 but had all 36s in Stem
9 APs completed - All 5s except 1 which he got 4. Doing 4 more in senior year
Finished 2 college Calc courses - Got A
Doing 2 more college math courses this year
Lots of clubs and leadership in 3.
Varsity sports
Research in lab in summer in the major he applied to
Not a lot of awards but couple at school and regional
Honestly there are probably tons of kids with his stats and perhaps even better. He got lucky. He was also shocked but l told him, sometimes we get lucky and we have to take it and run with it.

Penn did not disclose the acceptance rate but they usually admit approximately half the class during the ED round. So, 1200/8500 is ~14% acceptance rate.

I don’t have that information readily available but you can likely find it by searching the Penn Admissions Blog or the Daily Pennsylvanian archives.

Congratulations and what you say so resonates - shoot your shot and you can lucky so take it and run, no imposter syndrome or anything like that. You belong ! I know it is easier said than done for those who are not admitted but this is the reality.
