University of Pittsburgh Class of 2024 Official Discussion Thread

I got accepted on 11/04. Does anyone know when I should expect to hear back about merit aid?

If you are selected to receive merit, you should hear before March.

What exactly is informed delivery? Can I find it on the portal somewhere?

It’s a USPS service allowing you around 7am in the morning to see envelopes of the mail arriving that day (via USPS site and email).

Ok thanks!

Based on my stats how much aid do you think I could receive? (instate)

UW GPA: 3.8
W GPA: 4.245
ACT: 34

I haven’t received any information on aid, so i’m getting worried.

@emilyfv2010 I’m going to guess $2k-$5k per year based on this years replies above.

I think for merit you need a high GPA, above 33 ACT and top class rank.

As far as need based aid, depending on FAFSA EFC, you could qualify for Pell Grant, Pell Grant match and PHEAA grant.

Do you know your FAFSA EFC? Don’t forget to do the PA state grant application after submitting FAFSA.

Recently received $20k /year merit (OOS). Thought every one would get considered for Chancellor’s Scholarship but some one here mentioned that they applied. Do we need to submit a separate application?

Congrats!
Would you mind sharing the stats, what school this was for, and when you received the award letter?

Received the award letter two weeks back. School of Engg, 4.5 gpa, 1560 SAT & 35 ACT, SAT math & science 800.

Seems like there’s been a lull with the merit notifications lately. Wonder what they are up to.

Hi, my son applied on 13th November, a week ago. His ACT appeared on psmoble and I saw his SARA was linked to Pitts. Can you guess how long does it take to get the result? Thanks

@TheVulcan
Agree - no news here either. Our state school will release results soon and UPitt may just go off the list.

I applied October 30th and the application said it was completed about November 5th. I haven’t received a decision notification yet, should I be worried?

FYI, Pitt Admissions is hosting a scholarship Q&A session TODAY, Thursday, 11/21 at 4PM on Facebook Live (Pitt Admissions Facebook page). It will be moderated by two members of the Scholarship Committee, so may be well worth the time for those who have questions (it seems many of you do)!

(If you see a similar post from me, it is because CC flagged it for review before posting, most likely because I included the actual link to the Facebook page in my previous post. Since the presentation is later today, I decided to post the info again in hopes of giving more of you advance notice in case they don’t release the previous post in time.)

My daughter submitted her app on Oct 31 and we haven’t heard anything either. It would’ve been nice to have a decision by now but we aren’t worried about it.

D applied Oct 31st, application was complete on Nov 7th. Nothing yet. The website states 4 to 6 weeks and I was told that they had an influx of applications on Oct 30th and 31st so we wait.

“Blah-blah-blah, you will get notified when you get notified.”

We just heard back today. We had applied in September and gotten a submit your senior grades. Submitted senior grades and heard back within a week. So very thrilled.
Does anyone know when they decide honors college admission and also any scholarship decisions after the initial admission decision is made?
