My school has this program with University of Pittsburgh where you can take college courses in high school. I took the University of Pittsburgh Introduction to Programming Class and I got an A. CMU said I can place out of my Introduction to programming class for Tepper. This should be good news except for the fact that my high school class was just copying Visual Basic code from a paper onto a computer. It required no work and the entire class (except for two kids) finished a semester course in one month. If I place out of this class at CMU will it hurt me in the future?

I could be wrong, but my friend’s in Tepper and he only had to take the Exploring Programming With Graphics class-- it’s like 15-102 or something of that level-- and he says that’s the only programming course he has to take. So if all you have to take is one course, and you can test out of it, sure, go ahead.
