University of Rhode Island Early action 2024

Wanted to start a thread. I see in previous years that even though it says mid to late January, there were accepted students in December. My son applied for engineering, and this is his No. 1 pick since we attended open house in November. Already accepted to UB, UA, ESF and some others. We are out of state for URI so also hoping for some scholarship to offset the additional cost of our SUNY schools.

My son has also applied to URI for engineering. And if by “UB“ you mean Buffalo, he has applied there also! My son hasn’t heard from Buffalo yet though, so I’m a little concerned! ETA: but maybe you mean Binghamton? My son did get in there, but it looks like he’s not getting any scholarship money, so it will probably be too expensive for us since we are OOS (MA).

Good luck! I agree it would be great to get an answer from URI before the end of the year, and for there to be some merit aid.

Thanks, good luck to you too! Sorry I meant University at Buffalo, but if your son got into Binghamton, he should have no issues at University at Buffalo. I think because Binghamton is so selective it is harder to get any merit. I know, why can’t our kids like the schools in our home states the best?

Based on their Instagram post today, decisions may be coming tomorrow.

I just saw that! I heard not to expect anything until mid-late January. What a nice treat if it’s tomorrow! We are waiting on two other schools tomorrow as well that are more of a reach so it’s been a little stressful leading up to tomorrow!

Decisions are out!

My daughter applied EA for nursing… apparently this roll out wasn’t for her! Dang it!

Hmm, nothing in my kid’s portal.

Oh that stinks. My daughter’s friend applied nursing and heard today. Instagram says more are coming soon so hopefully that will be for you!!

OMG. He got an email that his status has changed. I can’t look without him. I have to wait for him to come home from school.

My son got in to the industrial engineering major! They actually admitted him to the 4+1 BS/MS program, but I don’t think that’s something he applied to.

He also got a merit scholarship of $15,000 per year and the honors college! This definitely makes URI a very strong option for him.

URI is one of my daughter’s top choices so we are so excited she was just accepted into the College of the Environment and Life Sciences as an Animal Science and Technology major. Getting some money was a major plus also!

It would be nice if they released them all at the same time.

Oh my gosh!! I got in as well for the same major and also for the school of environment and life sciences!!! I am currently a high school senior so it is great getting to see other people get in for the same major as me!
