what are my chances of getting in rd. I applied ed and got deferred.
Did you write your letter of continued interest? Definitely do that to help your chances!
I am wondering based on the decisions from ED1, whether my son has any chance at getting in ED2 with the following stats:
3.7 UW GPA
1400 SAT superscore
16 AP Classes
Lots of EC and has work experience (chess tutor)
Good reco letters
I hear ED2 is harder than ED1 so I am thinking not but would like to know what to expect when weighing his options- thanks so much!!

When is early action releasing ?
Hi! Being very transparent here, I wouldn’t do it. I applied ED1 this year with a 3.88 UW, 1400 SAT (but I went test-optional) and I got deferred to regular decision. I have strong ECs and imo, a great essay. I definitely agree that ED2 is harder than ED1 as well.
Thanks so much Hannah- we will probably do it no matter what as he does not have an ED2 school he would apply to otherwise. I just wanted to know if I should expect that it would be a possibility and not bother touring all his schools he has been accepted to or wait until after we heard back. If the chances are unlikely (which seems to be the case based on what you just told me) we will carry on with our tours now. This is REALLY very helpful as it gives me great insight. Thanks so much for sharing and I wish you the best of luck and hope you still get in! Thank you!
I’m glad I could help! I definitely agree that your son should still apply ED2 if he’s does not want to apply anywhere else ED2. Thank you for your kind words and best of luck to your son as well!
Are you the student or the mom? If the student you are amazingly mature for your age and will certainly go far in life wherever you go!
Haha thank you so much, I am the student! I be definitely been very invested in this process so being deferred from ED1 was really disheartening, but I’ve accepted it and I’m glad I can help others!
Any idea when EA came out last year? Have they said anything about how many they received vs last year?
The portal says January 26th for EA decisions.
Did anyone get a CSS fee waiver code from University of Richmond? I got emailed one 2 days ago but the Dean of Admissions. All on my Certificate of Finances was $0 tho because I am an international student seeking full financial aid. I heard they only offer it to competitive international applicants, anyone got it. I am afraid it’s be rejected/deferred even after being given a good sign with the CSS fee waiver
Do ppl think EA decisions will be released on 1/19, 1/25, or 1/26?
I think someone said that the portal says 1/26 for EA decisions. Can anyone confirm?
DS2 is applying now, but DS applied 2021-22, and DD applied 2022-23 and both of their years they actually came out a week earlier. Both times they sent an email for notice of release date on the Wednesday before the Friday of release. 2021-22 was released on Friday, Jan. 21 and 2022-23 was released on Friday, Jan. 20th. But it could be different this year. Both times they had a later date on the portal.
Thanks. I see approximate release date is 1/25 on their website. Colleges usually don’t go over so makes me think 1/19, which matches your experience.
If they are sticking to their pattern, they will let us know tomorrow if they are releasing this Friday.
Yes, the portal says 1/26 as approximate notification date.
