University of Richmond vs Tulane University

I am looking for feedback on the University of Richmond vs Tulane University for an Asian American female student from the East Coast area for a biochemistry and molecular biology course with a possible minor in data science.

  1. social vibe (if not planning to be involved in Greek life)
  2. academic and research opportunities
  3. general college and student atmosphere (diversity, culture, etc)
  4. opportunities in New Orleans vs Richmond for science research.

You can see diversity in the common data set.

In the first year last year Richmond had 833 kids. 509 were caucasian. 91 hispanic, 54 black, and 47 Asian.

Tulane had 1867 so more than double with 1153 white. 248 Hispanic, 116 Asian and 97 black.

So both seem similarly diverse if you consider that diverse - but perhaps a slightly different bias to one race over another.

Another somewhat different metric of diversity - 605 of 1867 kids at Tulane got need aid - you can say a rich kids school. At Richmond, 311 of 833 - so again, a similar ratio…so both will skew wealthy.

Two somewhat different schools though.

Good luck

Tell us why these two in the first place, and then maybe we’ll have some insight into which would better fit what you are looking for.

Is this for the upcoming application cycle or are you comparing acceptances in hand (came off a waitlist)?

You had a similar post in May about Richmond vs F&M… is this about the same student?
