Just curious about students’ experiences at U of R. When you have questions, are administrators responsive? Or do you get lost in voicemails/emails with no reply?
(We’re having trouble getting responses from some adminsitrative departments as a parent of an admitted student and wondering if this is par for the course at UofR)? Concerned it’s going to be a headache for our student if s/he attends and has any questions or issues that need administrator guidance)
I am a parent, not a student, but happy to share my $0.02.
My son’s experience this year has been extremely frustrating for him and us. Without giving away too much detail that would out him or bore you, he is trying to get credit for a class in one of his off-major clusters and has gotten conflicting info from multiple sources. He is caught in a crossfire between his major advisor and other advisor, who are saying different things and not talking to each other and generally being unresponsive. He has forwarded all emails to us (each with a few week delay in responses from the school - it’s been going on since the fall). Our policy is not to get involved in our kids’ school, but it’s taken every ounce of restraint to not send off a grumpy email ourselves. My son seems resigned to giving up and taking an extra class next year, but the injustice with what they said (via paper trail) and what they are doing now is really really frustrating.
I’m sure it’s only the unhappy people that will reply and plenty of happy people are quiet, so take this feedback with a grain of salt - but my experience is that they are not responsive at all.
