We applied EA not ED but no word yet on EA.

My son just received his ED acceptance letter. He applied 10/30/25. He is an out-of-state student looking to major in business. He is so excited!

Congratulations. Do you mind sharing your son’s stats? Ours are daughter, 4.0UW, 3 honors, 3 AP, OOS, part-time job, minor other EC. No word still on EA.

Son has a 3.2 overall GPA, with a strong upward trend after a not-so-strong freshman year, a couple of honors classes, and AP Spanish. Well-rounded kid, with strong sports and interests, some self-run community volunteer efforts, summer jobs, and unique travel experiences. Accepted ED 12/5/25

Still no word on EA other than it’s being reviewed (from AO). Can’t find anything on social media from USD that says when decisions will be out.

Decisions are in the portal! No email was sent though.

My student was accepted.

My student’s status still says “complete and ready for review”. Maybe they are rolling them out and won’t send emails until everyone’s status is updated?

My two older kids (HS ‘19 and ‘22) had this experience with USD RD prior to them offering EA . . . The decisions rolled out over several weeks. (I don’t remember about timing of the email vs. portal.) Hopefully it won’t drag out for EA this year! I’ll have my student check the portal tonight and report back if there’s any update.

Update: Accepted!

My student accepted as well! So excited, #2 choice — #1 choice is top5 HYPS super (out of) reach so that will be almost certainly a no, so I think we will be a Torero family next year!

Does anyone know if students will receive an actual acceptance letter to download? Or is it only the email?

Deferred, which is too bad, but perhaps just as well, since USD had the worst net price calculator estimate of any of the schools on the list, and that’s before transportation from NC. Oh well. Happy for those with better news!
