Hmmm, interesting thought.
Accepted OOS Public Heath
4.0 UW, 5.08 SC GPA
1410, 10APs. 2 DE
96K Scholarship
Wondering if there is anyway to request reconsideration for merit… DD has a 4.0 unweighted, around 5.1 based on the SC weighting scale… 3 honors/3 AP/ 12 DE (including this year so not all in the GPA), top 5% of class of 400 students, but her 1330 SAT brought her merit level down. Does anyone have any idea/past experience?
How do you know the 1330 brought the merit level down? Did they say that?
It’s in the chart where it lists info about merit, linked in the letter.
31 ACT. 4.4W. Deferred OOS
Congrats to all accepted
I didn’t look at chart. My son had 1420 sat and got 43,000 also. He has 4.0 uw 4.45 w not sure sc gpa but has 11aps that includes the 5 ap this year and rest all honors.
Son submitted test scores and no merit
Thinking class rank affected merit, other stats comparable or higher than others getting merit
Can you share? Accepted to Darla with 34 ACT and no merit, thinking class rank affected it?
Anyone hear anything about honors college admittance today? I know they say February but it seems a few years ago that some people found out in their EA admittance
I’ve heard you can.
No. My son curious too.
Are you out of state? I thought the merit offers were entirely test score based, so 34 ACT would be an in-state tuition offer. That’s what people are referring to when they are talking about 96K. That’s the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition over 4 years.
Possibly. Each scholarship listed on their website includes a class rank component.
I suspect there is more involved than just the test scores. My D submitted a 1460 SAT and did not get merit in her letter either. Her school does not rank.
Ugh, sorry. Feel like you should have been in.
My daughter had merit info but no info on Honors College.
Deferred OOS 4.5 GPA, test optional.
Just did a quick review of last year’s thread. HC acceptances came out 12/21 last year. All accepted HC students are considered for Top Scholars weekend but only a select few are invited - that weekend happened 2/3, I think. From that pool, a few lucky kids get even more merit. There was a small batch of honors invites that went out after this weekend in February. That’s just last year - things could be different this year. It’s a compelling program. Good luck to your kiddo!
