University of Tenneseee Computer Engnieering

Are there any other guys on this board that plan on going to UTK next year for ECE? Word is in they plan to complete a brand new 150,000sqft building just for the ECE guys in 2010. These guys also have very strong connections with Oak Ridge National Laboratory for possible internships and jobs.

So my question is this, any UT CE,ECE, or CS alumni here? Any stories or suggestions for a freshman entering next year?

The New building is for Electrical Eng., Comp Eng. and Computer Science. It is almost completed and is going to be extremely nice. The CEO of Garmin is a UT grad and donated all the money for the building which will be named after him. It will be the first LEED certified building on campus. I’m a senior in Civil at UT and they broke ground on a new Civil building a couple of weeks ago. UT is an incredible place to go to school. Knoxville is a great town and I could not imagine going anywhere else for school.

ah cool man! Thanks for the info!

spazbite41, are you getting any job prospects? From what I’ve seen, the economy for CivE’s is dead. I’ve been scouring Monster.com, CareerBuilder, USAJobs, etc, and there are more jobs asking for +5 years experience in the field already. I’m mainly curious. What’s your senior design? I was a project manager for Water and WW Systems.

I will be a freshman at UTK next year and was wondering if the biomedical engineering program is any good?
