<p>So I’m currently a CC student and I am re-applying for the Fall semester at The University of Texas. I will have 56 hours, 3.46 gpa, 30 hours of community service, two reputable letters of rec, and strong essays. I am applying to the School of Liberal Arts for English. I am taking 20 hours this semester and plan to get A’s in all of them showing a positive academic trend. My main concern are my withdrawals. I had two for my first year (one just an intermediate math class, and the other course I later completed with an A), and three for my Summer session. I was signed up for 18 hours of credit for the first summer session and was doing well in them. But then my sister had to have an appendectomy, forcing me to pay for some of the expenses around the house. I no longer had as much time for my studies, which in turn I had to cut my load. But the second Summer session I completed another 9 hours, giving me 18 total hours for the Summer. I am just curious if I appeal to the admissions office my purpose for withdrawals will my chance for acceptance be any better?</p>
