If a student was admitted EA - is there a chance for a scholarship after the RD round or would the student already been passed over after EA?

The Echols, Rodman, and College Science Scholars program invitations will come out next week. I will post an update when I have one. This review round included all applicants (Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision). Echols and Rodman also allow self-nomination after your first semester. Miller Arts Scholars apply after the first semester.

First time posting on this thread. My OOS D24 got waitlisted. This is her first waitlist decision so not sure what to expect going forward.
If she asks admissions, will they tell her what spot she has on this list?
What are the historical odds of getting accepted off the waitlist?
What are the odds of a merit scholarship?
When would waitlist decisions come out?
I am not an expert, but the UVA admissions blog has good information. The waitlist typically isnāt ārankedā and admissions committees typically arenāt very transparent with individual applicants. UVA doesnāt really do merit scholarships, though there are Echols, Rodman, and College Science Scholar programs that are highly selective. Admits are invited to apply for first-year merit scholarships - the email that I received had various scholarships ranging from $1250 to $10k for students from certain counties or meeting certain criteria (such as first gen). I understand that UVA decisions were released today but my son did not receive a decision. I wonder if others are still awaiting decisions.

Rejected OOS for CS. Expected, UVA was a school I wasnāt really interested in from the getgo and I didnāt really have a good reason to apply there.
S24 accepted on Fri- was a little surprised with how competitive school admissions had been this year.
4.0UW (lots of AP, AICE, Honors courses)
35 ACT (not super scored)
2x varsity sport captain with mult school records
Manual labor job
Volunteers
Multiple moves during high school resulting in 3 different schools
Happy for him to not get another rejection.
I am worried about no direct admits to businessā¦ I know he will work hard but sometimes schools are looking for more than just hard work these days so Iām leaning away from UVA personally. Thoughts?
