University of Washington portfolio requirements

Does the university of Washington require a portfolio for freshmen applicants? It says no supplements are necessary for freshmen, but I read somewhere there a portfolio is required. The deadline is in 3 days, can someone please help me out?

It isn’t required.

The University of Washington offers two pre-professional undergraduate degrees in architecture: Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a BA in Architectural Design. (Note, these degrees are different from the professional BArch, the Bachelors of Architecture.)

My understanding from their website is that first year students enter the university, not the architecture program. Students apply to the Department of Architecture in the spring of their sophomore year after completing the requisite courses.

So, in answer to your question, since you’ll be applying to UofWashington in general, not the Department of Architecture, you do not need to submit a portfolio.

To reconfirm, it would be a good idea to contact the department directly.
