June 1st is Decision Day for UW, so I am starting the waitlist/appeal discussion thread.
Below are some waitlist stats from the last few years.

  • 2023: 2,985 of the 4,122 students on the waitlist were offered admission
  • 2022: 8 of the 5,347 students on the waitlist were offered admission
  • 2021: 631 of the 4,668 students on the waitlist were offered admission

Would be interesting to know the admit rate for each of the years that you highlighted in your post.

Thank you for sharing; the wait-list admissions offers for 2023 are astonishing–to what do you attribute this massive change ?

2023 was the first year UW was on the common app so one theory could be so many more applicants applied who just applied since it is easy to check the box, but not sure.

It has been almost a week since the 6/1 deadline so hopefully we hear something soon.

Any intel on waitlist? people getting in? numbers, etc?

S24 got off the WL last Friday, June 14 and enrolled the same day. The letter said he had until June 28 to decide so maybe after that date there will be another wave of admits after they see how many enrolled.
