I have interest in University of Washington- Seattle, and would like to know if one is to get accepted how well are they offering need base financiald aid for out of state students?

Also, how is UW-Seattle in political science or international relations…
Thanks

I live in Seattle and went to the UW for my Masters degree. My opinion, and it is just that, is that the UW isn’t worth the kind of extra money you would have to pay as an out of state student. They honor their obligation to the residents of Washington first. I’m sure they love having out of state students, but they just can’t afford to give them much aid.

I can’t speak to how the UW is for the departments you mentioned. I can tell you that is a big school and on the undergraduate level I’m not sure that it differs that much from other big State Universities.

Yeah I sorta assumed they may do well with OOS FASA due to being close to prestige etc… I’ve been told by many, usually higher rank the university means better FASA.

No new information regarding out of state financial aid, because mooper and Pea covered it: it sucks. But I would like to mention that this time last year, I would have killed to be in your position. I am a WA resident who will be attending UW in the fall, but I would have much rather attended the University of Michigan if I could have afforded it. I hope you plan to apply to Michigan as well, because I found it far more attractive than UW in several aspects.
