Can’t get in. Can anyone get in?

On Scholarship Universe do you have a campus ID number that is different from your applicant ID number?

On my sons when I click on the Wisconsin jobs, it shows me the list of current ones. It does then ask for a login, I didn’t try to login.

I have a question about deferrals … is a deferred OOS student out of luck in a limited enrollment major? For example S24 from Chicago burbs (overrepresented OOS demographic) trying to major in finance, investment & banking … will that major be filled with EA kids (and awesome kids that show up for the first time in RD)? And if it is pretty much filled up, does UW just go ahead and reject, or do they admit/defer to an undecided/pre-business (maybe with a waitlist for the major). I’m just trying to think about what the various scenarios are, and if those scenarios are different for the impacted majors.

i have 14 recommended scholarship in the scholarship portal. How many do others have? Why is this accessible before they announce admissions?

I have 8

14 including honors program

I do know they offer pre-business to some students, but I also think a good number of deferred EA students last year ended up happy in the end. So I haven’t followed that granularly. But I definitely wouldn’t panic or take it personally with a deferral from the Chicago area (and we are from the Minneapolis area - similar deal!). Crossing fingers you don’t have to wait to find out!

The scholarship hub has always been accessible as far as I know. My kid last year auditioned for music and the music application and scholarship application had to be done through the scholarship hub. I remember scanning through the scholarships at that time with her to see if there was anything else that might fit. I’m sure they aren’t awarded until after acceptance but you can apply if you find something that might align for you!

If I’m remembering correctly, Wisconsin sent an email about this a while back – – saying apply for scholarships before you’re admitted. I believe the email noted that a lot of scholarship deadlines are early to mid February.
Are those deadlines lining up with what you can see in the portal?

Does anyone know if they announced before decisions were posted last year? A social media post the day before or anything?

they announced the day of or after saying congrats, I dont think anything before hand

Its a good idea, but seems hard to ask students to apply to a scholarship before they even know if they get in…

And that’s why we haven’t applied for any yet! Maybe if S24 was an English or creative writing major he would be more excited about another essay … :joy:
