Yes, the second choice (if they had one) is considered.

Check this link. It explains how the direct entry to certain programs (including business works). My understanding, if not given direct admission, they will be placed in L&S as pre-business. During first year, they have a chance of applying again provided they meet certain criteria. However, it also states, just meeting minimum criteria is not enough as the admissions process is competitive.

S24, OOS did not apply to Business school so have not done any more research into this.

are you talking about the general application for scholarships? I’m talking about that

What’s your question? I didn’t understand your original question either.

Yes, S’25 (elsewhere) applied business and was accepted L&S PreBusiness

what is the average gpa of a student who gets admitted??

This does not have gpa on it but other interesting data that goes many years back and includes 2023 (click on link for PDF that says “box”): Box

Here is a link to the UW Madison Common Data Set that has that information, plus more. The answer to average GPA is 3.88.

Unweighted? Or Weighted?

In the linked document it refers to a 4.0 scale.

3.88 is crazy ngl for a public school like maidson. Almost the same as ivys

Unweighted

Most common data sets that use weighted show a certain percentage of accepted students over a 4.0.

I was wondering the same thing but the UW-Madison CDS, where you find the 3.88 figure, does state it uses a 4.0 scale. (See CDS linked above.)

CDS is not uniform and can be skewed as it’s what the college wants to report. i do believe the actual unweighted GPA is around a 3.8. but there are many factors, most important being, rigor.

What time Friday is likely the release?

7pm CST historically.

Does anyone know how they actually notify when they do? Do they send an email to the student? Do you just have to check the portal on your own? My daughter will be out of town on an orchestra trip this weekend so I just wonder how she might find out.
