Last year the form for submitting first term grades included a text box for submitting LOCI.
According to the CDS, only about 5% of UW Madison students get any kind of merit. I do have an OOS kid that did get a nice merit award. But that is unusual and it was a very niche award. You can and should dig through the scholarship hub if you haven’t done so! Some require seperate applications, etc. Most awards are small. And many are very specific (from a geographic area, for a certain major, etc).

Son accepted (OOS, Minnesota) for College of Arts and Science, Mathematics. 3.96 UW/4.86 W GPA, ACT 34, SAT 1520 - quite a few AP/DE classes.
DD deferred. OOS seeking direct admit to Business. Disappointed.

S25 OOS (Pennsylvania) accepted School of Ed. 1460 SAT 3.6 UW GPA. never got an email. Made him check the portal because I saw all the posts here.
Daughter accepted to Boston campus for environmental science. 43/45 Predicted IB, do not submit SAT, decent ECs and leaderships, Tennis captain for 3 years. International students. So far get accepted from some EA schools Purdue, Northeastern, U Florida and Case Western. Deferred from Babson College and rejected from Northwestern ED.
Yes, we are going through the 5 stages of grief. But, thankfully there are other great options that already came through. We’re going to miss Bucky.
