University of Wisconsin -Madison vs Ohio State vs UIUC vs Clemson University for Mech Engineering

I’d rather not say, such a small world! All other info is spot on.

That’s ok…maybe the son can major in eng’g and the daughter can major in business…or the other way around.

I know that engineers often get masters in business. It would seem better to as concentrate on the engineering and take as many courses relative to that as possible instead of doing minimal coursework to have room for business courses. I don’t understand the fascination with the Michigan campus compared to the Wisconsin when the campus is divided… Academics great at all schools, campus flavors different.

Engineers do often get masters in business…but not until after they have some significant experience in the engineering field…so they have some knowledge about that which they manage.

Since no one else has mentioned it directly, all of these school are solid ABET and will be just fine. So don’t worry about the academics. Make sure they offer the programs the kids wants, and they are somewhere the kid wants to live for 4 years.

Clemson is significantly smaller but has much closer to CA weather than the others. Great school spirit at all. No bad choices here.
