Hello,
have to decide between University of Wisconsin Madison and Santa Clara University. Applying for major in Business/ Economics.
Which one would be a better, more well known school for my selected major?
Many thanks!

Both.
So you’re in at both ?
One is a huge flagship in the frigid Midwest.
The other is a Jesuit school in the Bay Area.
Are you in at both ? You have plenty of time to go see them.
What’s your long term job goal ?
Good luck.
Did you get accepted to both already! Or are you trying to decide where to apply?
If you are an instate resident for Wisconsin, the cost will be far less than Santa Clara.
Are these the only colleges you are considering?
Can you be more specific about his interest in Business/Economics?
Both are very good schools. You really can’t go wrong with either one.
Am applying as an international applicant.
Can only apply to a few schools (those are the rules for international high schools here) so we need to really pick and choose carefully.
Interested in finance, economics, entrepreneurship.
39 IB score, 530 SAT.
Have applied to UVA, UIUC, Indiana Bloomington, Boston College.
Need to select 1 more out of:
Wisconsin Madison
Penn state
Santa Clara
Baruch
Rutgers
Fordham
Any help much appreciated!
That looks like a typo…what was your SAT score?
My opinion…if you are interested in finance, Fordham is a good choice, I think (@Catcherinthetoast your thoughts?). But what exactly in “finance” do you want to do?
If you’re interested in entreprenneurship, you should look at Babson. It’s #1 for that.
To your original question, I’d choose Sandra Clara ove Wisconsin for the combination of Business/Economics and Entreprenneurship over Wisconsin, but either would be very good.
Sorry yes that was wrong. It’s 1530 SAT
If money is not a factor, go with SCU. Just know that as an international student, you need to show your ability to pay (bank statement) for the 1st year tuition at the time of application. (I am international too.)
Are you auto admit for IU Kelley ? Not sure how international works.
If not, I’d suggest any of the last three as the others you applied to already are reaches. So Baruch, Fordham or Rutgers.
I’ll assume you mean 1530 for the SAT.
If you are direct admit to IU, I’d say Penn State, Wisconsin or Rutgers as they are most similar to your list. Rutgers will be easiest transport wise.
But if you can obtain direct admit to IU Kelley, then no more needed unless you aren’t interested (but then why apply). It’s arguably the strongest school on your list.
I’m assuming you can afford all these.
Good luck.
What does this mean!
I corrected. Bad phone typing.
You may have already decided, but if not, you should do Babson or Santa Clara. Santa Clara is in the middle of Silicon Valley and is unbeatable for internship opportunities and amazing professors who are actively successful in the fields they’re teaching. Check outcomes for these schools. You’ll see SCU rises above the rest.
