University offers female students extra credit for not shaving their armpits

Female Arizona State University students can receive extra credit for defying social norms and refusing to shave for 10 weeks during the semester … Men are also allowed to receive extra credit, as long as they shave their bodies from the neck down.

And in order to get the extra credit does she make the male students prove they shaved everywhere below the neck? Just another example of why some of these profs give their fields of study such a bad reputation. Since the norm is for women in the USA to shave their armpits and men not to, why wouldn’t it have been enough to simply reverse that paradigm?
