University Research Partners?

Today I received an email from them that said

“University Research Partners is conducting research for a university you expressed interest in attending. As a successful college-bound student, we hope you will participate in a study about the entering class of 2012.

Does anyone know if this is legitimate? Has anyone gotten this and done it? And does anyone know what schools do this? I only applied to 3. Thanks.

My daughter received one too, I keep deleting but they keep sending them. I have no clue if it is legit. It has a .org next to the site but not sure if that is enough to make it a legitimate site

First, this .com does not have anything to do with scholarships or financial aid so I don’t know why it is posted here.

Looking at your link, this is a marketing research firm, providing information about prospective students to universities. This does not benefit you personally in any way except that you may be chosen to be a student panelist and give your opinions and then get access to a forum for discussion. Some marketing research firms put you in a drawing for a gift card but this one doesn’t even give you that carrot.

In any case, this has nothing to do with getting you into college or any particular college, they just want your opinions to sell to the colleges in aggregate. Like a music company might hire a marketing research firm to give eSurveys on prospective college student music taste.
