Have anyone ever been invited to attend a university? If so, what university was it and why? Did they offer you anything if you attended. Did you attend the school?

There are many reasons why I asked this question, one is to find out how often does a situation like this occur.

If the question above does not apply to you, then what university do you plan to attend and why?

Do you mean like you’ve been emailed by a school to come or something? If you’ve taken PSATs especially that will start to happen, schools buy the email addresses or addresses of people with a certain range of scores, and start mailing stuff to them. It’s just to get you to look at them

Many of the top 200 or so colleges & universities solicit high school juniors & seniors to apply to that school. Often the solicitation offers free application, essay waivers & an expedited decision. Many include invitations to apply for scholarships & some invite the student to special scholars weekends or diversity visits.
The most serious offers by colleges & universities are made after the student has applied to that school.
Both pre & post application offers may include free transportation, food & housing for one or two days.
A couple of years ago my son received at least six offers, two of which were from Ivies, one from a very elite LAC, & three from large state universities in other areas of the country. He only accepted one offer & only applied to one of the schools (the same univ.)–a large state university to which he was offered a four year (eight semester) out-of-state tuition scholarship, a fellowship with annual cash stipend, honors housing & other perks.

No, only have one user account. Just almost something like a coincidence.

Thanks for the response everyone… although I’ve been inform about universities that actually reach out to a paticular student(s) to attend the school. It’s more comman if the student is playing sports, but high in academics as well.
