Unofficial Transcript Trick

@uwhusky1997‌

No. He lives in Northern California, so nothing yet.

@monkeyblue97‌ I haven’t told anyone yet, but it’s not really because I feel shady about not being accepted (I especially have not told my parents yet bc I want them to know through that gold letter  ) But, I’ve had my transcript with my student ID, all my testing scores, my college, my major, my cost of attendance with my name and student number showing up on the top of the financial aid status page. If all of that together doesn’t indicate something then I don’t know what does haha

Edit: Also, I’ve only applied to the Seattle campus so that’s the only thing that can show up

I honestly think they are sending it out in batches based on who submitted their applications first. Obviously it takes time for mail to travel so OOS may just be getting their offer now. Most likely it is something like a queue.

@pchristian90‌ yas great enthusiasm please be my coach through this process

@liment‌ I don’t think that’s necessarily true because people in the Seattle area that turned it in a couple days before the deadline have received their letter

Something that is kind of interesting to note is that no rejections/waitlists have been sent yet as far as I can tell. Interesting

@ferdinand32 Yes, others in my zip code and MANY in the Seattle area have received their letters. So, even though my transcript has loaded and I have a student ID #, I worry. The fact that no rejections/waitlists have gone out yet either worries me. The combination makes me think I’m looking at a waitlist … perhaps they upload transcripts for those waitlisted too. Ugh. This is excruciating.

@ferdinand32 when i go to my financial aid status i see my name and student no. but not my cost of attendence. Where is it on the page?

Guys, here’s a bit of info that might be uplifting. A guy in my school who has not gotten a letter yet OR a transcript (disregarding his transcript from taking a UW course in the past) is the type of student that is extremely qualified for any competitive school. He plays varsity sports, has many leadership roles, takes almost all AP classes, has a high GPA as well as a very high SAT score. I think we are all anxious here, and so am I lol. But I think that we need to also remember that there are THOUSANDS of applicants that need to recieve letters and thousands of transcripts to be loaded.

Now with that being said, being patient is the only thing we can do right now. I can hardly stay patient myself, but I know that some of the “clues” we are finding have the potential to be inaccurate.

@Brianna3‌ I’m quite sure you’re accepted, but either way, you’ll find out soon enough. Stay positive, my friend

@monkeyblue97‌ It’s a tab on the left in the financial aid status page. It only works if you’ve applied for financial aid so far I believe

@monkeyblue97‌ @ferdinand32‌ just thought I would let you guys know, I live about 40 minutes from UW Seattle, and there’s been tons thag have received acceptance letters, and a few that have gotten rejections letters all on Monday! So YESS, there ARE REJECTIONS LETTERS OUT as of Monday! So that’s good if you guys haven’t:)

So once again, everything is sent in batches, hundreds in stage got letters of in/reject on Monday and a few leftovers Tuesday (guessing mail was just late or they didn’t check) and barely any today either, for the same reason.

I don’t trust the unofficial transcript trick really, well I mean if you see it that sounds good! So be happy. But if you don’t see it, I believe we shouldn’t be at all discouraged. I don’t see mine, well I see my non matriculated one from a high school UW course.

I haven’t gotten a letter yet, and I know plenty of people at my school that have gotten in that have lower stats than me, I have a 3.86gpa 1900sat, lots of clubs and APs and sports. I know a girl that has like the same exact Ecs and stats as me and she got Hers Monday. And I also know a lot of people that have no APs, probably a 3.7 and got in!! Even some 3.5-3.6range.

So keep up the hope! There’s a 2/3rds slot specifically for Washington residents, so good luck to me and to my other waiting Washington applicants.

For everyone else, all I can say is calm down, it’ll take longer for the letter to get to you but you have a fair chance.

@ferdinand23 okay i didn’t apply for financial aid so that is probably why i didn’t see it. That was the only thing you saw that I didn’t . I guess it is safe to assume that we are in then. Congrats!

@kingcwagrad15‌ really? There’s been rejections? Wow. I was not aware!

@uwhusky1997‌ yeah! There’s been just a handful I’m aware of, less than 10, which makes sence since nobody wants to broadcasts their rejections haha. But yeah there have been!

Also I hear you’re in the Seattle area, how close?

Within this proximity, we will probably get out letters (good or bad) before this Sunday im assuming.

My neighbors daughter is a senior at UW right now, and told me not to worry about not getting it on the first day. Apparently there are 2-3 big waves that come in, the first being this Monday, the second 4-5 days afterward.

Someone a couple pages back mentioned that their dad called admissions yesterday, and UW clarified that letters are sent out completely randomly. So that explains why so many qualified students are now thinking they’ve been rejected, regardless of the transcript thing (which I am not even bothering to check anymore and ignoring)

I have a slight reason to believe (for instate students) that they’re sending it by the time the application was sent in, because I know most of the people who got letters sent theirs in 2-5 days prior, whereas I sent mine in the day before, and everyone left waiting at my school has told me they sent theirs like the day of haha.

Wow thank you, this information is extremely helpful- and assuring! I’m about an hour away from seattle. I am having issues with vieving my transcript as I have applied for another campus months back, so that trabscript is showing rather than a Seattle transcript… but like you said, the transcript trick should have no relevance to a denial so I’m not going to worry.

Thank you again! @kingcwagrad15‌

Thanks for the reassurance @ferdinand32!

I’ll elaborate more on my dad calling/letters:

My transcript is loaded, and while I am thrilled I’ve been eagerly awaiting that letter. My dad called me to let me know that he had called admissions to ask about letters (not sure why he did this, I’m not THAT nervous, but I have a feeling he’s just anxious to find out if he’ll be able to buy Husky season tickets haha)

Here is how their convo went down: A senior at UW who is working at admissions answered, and she said she was extremely nice and helpful. A rule they have is that they cannot talk about individual acceptance/rejection, but they can talk about general things. She said that they are sending out over 36,000 letters, and they cannot do it all at once because 1. it would overwhelm the post office and 2. they would be way too busy with calls at admissions. The batches are completely random, and waiting does not have any indication about your admittance. She said that she received her letter on the very last day and was expecting a rejection, however she was accepted! She also said admissions is EXTREMELY busy, and to remember that we are literally only a few days into this long, long process.

So everyone relax a little and remember that it will all be done soon enough. We are barely at the surface of admissions, they are busy, you will know soon enough! <:-P

Yeah no problem!!

This time yesterday I was like face down in my couch so sad and thinking I didn’t get in because of the transcript.

But I’ve talked to a ton of people, all I can say is I’ve heard of several 3.6-3.7 gpas with 1600-1700 sats that have got in, and I know there’s people and they’re not in outstanding classes or clubs.

And with the info I’ve gotten today about letters being random and the different waves I am not concerned anymore!!

Let me know when you find out! I’ll defonetely post here too:) @uwhusky1997

@GabiWasabi‌ that really is reassuring thank you!!

Are you instate??
