3.64, 1620, lot’s of EC’s, no letter, no transcript… uhoh
@CAClassof2019 Well, I beg to differ your statement. SAT’s aren’t everything! I think I WILL get ACCEPTED!
@wiifixp I don’t even know if anybody at all in Cali will receive a letter this week. The farthest they’ve gone so far seems to be Portland, Oregon which is very very far north in Oregon. But I hope we all receive soon!
@pchristian90 Well, you requested someone to chance you, so I gave my 2 cents. However, it’s good that you’re optimistic about it Wish you the best!
@pchristian90 Both your SAT and GPA are kinda low and while these two aren’t everything both are high on importance in the admissions process. Good luck however and I hope for the best as you do seem to be very involved in your community and have a ton of extra-curriculars.
@pchristian90 your academic stats may not be spectacular, but I’m pretty sure your EC’s make up for it. Remember that UW does follow a holistic admissions process. ALSO. And this might be the factor that helps you the most. You’re in state. Don’t fret. You can never tell if you’ll get accepted/rejected until you get the final decision
Best of luck
Out of curiosity, does everybody whose transcripts have loaded also have a student number? I think as long as there is a student number, that’s definitely 100% gotta be a sign of acceptance.
i have a student number!
Any of you who are seeing your transcript- did you happen to have applied to another campus beforehand?
i have only applied to uw seattle
Your EC’s are quite good @pchristian90 and living in WA will help tremendously.
Can someone chance me please?
3.15 GPA (I have 3 A’s and one B+ currently) (Senior Year GPA:Weighted GPA:4.67 Unweighted GPA:3.67) Grades have improved tremendously over junior and senior year.
I had extreme family hardships freshman and sophomore year which I mentioned (multiple deaths in family + having to take care of family members and how it affected my GPA)
1730 SAT
AP: 6 classes total (2 junior, 4 senior year)
No Running Start Program
Student of the Month
Dad and his brother went to University of Washington (Legacy)
500+ Community Service Hours
- Built a computer science curriculum for a non-profit (worked at non-profit for two years)
- Volunteered at a after-school camp for three years
- Food bank volunteer for one year
- Started a class for the elderly related to computers (non-profit)
- Started my own company related to above bullet point ^
- Leader of Student Senate
- My school doesn’t rank, but I am in the top 25% for sure.
Side note: A lot of people above my rank have applied to UW as a “safety school”… will this affect me?
Also for everybody whose transcripts have loaded but do not believe they have been accepted because of lower than average stats, instead of not believing in your acceptance, I think we should recognize UW for its great holistic approach and applaud them for realizing that GPA and SAT are not the only factors that define a good student
@wiifixp your ECs are amazing… That should boost your chances. The only downside is your GPA, as your SAT score is about average. I think you have a decent chance is your transcript showing?
@ferdinand32 Nicely stated. Hope so!!! And, yes, my transcript uploaded and I have a student number. But why would I be accepted if people in my zip code have already been accepted?
@uwhusky1997
No, my transcript isn’t showing
I know my friend with a 2100 SAT and a 4.0 GPA with literally no EC’s got his transcript loaded.
I forgot to add that I probably have around 500+ Community service hours.
@ferdinand32 this is going to sound weird, but are you sure enough to tell people that you got in? or waiting for the letter to arrive before telling friends?
I’m planning on visiting UW during my spring break, so I hope my letter comes before then to confirm everything. Come on UW, Cali is waiting (very impatiently)
@uwhusky1997 I stated why my GPA freshman and sophomore year was so low. I just added it to the post above.
I told UW admissions in more detail why.
I guess the applications this year were just too competitive. As an in-state applicant I thought this would have been a bit easier but I guess not. I really have no idea what to think about my transcript situation. I’m almost wishing that my tacoma transcript could just go away so I could clarify whether or not I got into Seattle. Anyways- did your friend recieve a letter yet?
@Brianna3 Do you mean people in your area have already been accepted through letter? Because it seems that zip code is not an indication of when you will receive the letter
