<p>And, 3.1 is not that low. UVa is a high-achieving school so they expect the best out of their students. You have to realize that A- and A do not qualify as equal grades. One is a 3.7 (A-) and the other is a 4.0 (A). So a 3.1 is a B, which is not low considering you are practically receiving an Ivy League education.</p>
