Okay, so I’m sure I want to major in international studies, but it’s an adjunct major (you have to have another major to double up with it) at Northwestern, and I’m pretty sure I want my primary major to be journalism, but I’m not sure.

Which school should I apply to the school for journalism or the college of arts and sciences?

If there’s even a remote possibility that you don’t want to do journalism, I’d go for Weinberg- A&S gives you that flexibility while Medill doesn’t leave a lot of room for change.

On the other hand, Medill is very hard to transfer into and it’s pretty crucial to begin taking Medill classes freshman year- so if if journalism is important to you, you need to do Medill. Feel free to do Weinberg, but once you choose that, you can no longer count on studying journalism.
