Hey,
So, I’m currently enrolled at a community college and I’m looking to transfer to either Texas Tech or University of North Texas in the fall to study Communication. I’m leaning more towards UNT but my dad says it’s not at the level of Texas Tech based on the US News rankings. For my major, I think they both hold about the same value. I just wanted to know which school would be more viable for me in relation to what I want to study.
Looking at stat comparisons, both schools are virtually identical. Both are tier one universities. Rankings are pretty much a matter of opinion, so I never pay much attention to those. Texas Tech does have higher average starting salaries than UNT, which indicates better job prospects. Your dad could be right. Communication is not the easiest degree to obtain gainful employment after graduation, so you’ll need all the advantages you can get.
