<p>Dream school: Harvard.</p>

<p>Why don’t I see many of you on the Class of 2014 thread? It’s been pretty stagnant lately.</p>

<p>In all honesty its because of 2 main reasons.

  1. you guys always talk school/APs. I like school, but I leave school at school. And sure there will be some times when you talk about something non-school related, but it will eventually return to “Hi, I have this schedule, It’s the hardest possible, should I take 3 more APs?!” my school has like 4 APs, I feel like you would all hard core judge me for only taking 2.
  2. Most people on there are really annoying. When I can tell how snobby a person is through the Internet, then it’s pretty obvious. I’m not saying all, because there’s quite a few who I would gladly talk with, but the minority always affects the majority.
    And wasn’t there like a major fight on there between 2 people because of differing opinions on a college? Like really?</p>

<p>^^Real talk. Being on the Class of 2014 thread makes me often feel like an overacheiver. It’s like, even when I do the most rigorous coursework, it seems to not even compare to the things you all do. I used to go on, but after a while it just made me feel as if my goal of getting where I want to go would never be accomplished if I have to compete with these people. So I refrain from going on that thread.</p>

<p>^Haha, exactly. I sometimes wonder why even go on CC, since it just makes me feel like an underachiever. Then I remember the people on CC who give amazing advice and are actually really helpful. Plus the random, irrelevant threads. And so I endure it.</p>

<p>I agree with almost everything you guys have said. Which is precisely why you should join in. Dilute the bad stuff. With more cool people, 2014 could be a great thread (like it used to be). No one should feel ashamed or judged on that thread, and I’m sorry if anyone has felt that way.</p>

<p>For example, this entire thread could have taken place on 2014. Everyone is welcome, and there shouldn’t be any elitism/braggarts. Honestly, if all the users from this thread (and the many other “junior year” threads) joined the Class of '14 thread, it could return to its former glory, haha. It used to be a thriving, helpful place. I hope that will return soon.</p>

<p>Really it’s only like 5 people that make me not want to go in the thread or contribute. They happen to be the most active and if they weren’t as active, I’d seriously chat it up with everyone else. Call me a bad person, but I don’t really care if someone got into a fancy school, youre volunteering for NASA because you can even though you plan on majoring in English, or that you have taken the SAT and got over 2000. Like, good for you, and I wish I had that drive, but I’m just an average kid and don’t want to be put down when all they do is talk about themselves.
And sorry if this is coming out as rude and mean to anyone in particular, I’m just trying to encompass all of the negatives I see in the thread.</p>

<p>Thank you for your input, Dan. I can see how much of that would be alienating (it sure is for me sometimes!). People on the 2014 thread will occasionally get into discussions of scores and ECs and such, but most of the time, it’s out of pure interest and not intended for bragging. I’d love to hear your input on the thread sometime.</p>

<p>I completely understand your qualms about the 2014 thread. As someone who still tries to post on the thread, I can assure you that people like Studious and I will try to make it as welcoming as possible from now on. It used to be a fantastic gathering point for fellow 2014-ers where we just discussed “normal” topics, free from competition and conflict. I hope we can revive that because such a thread is needed for 2014-ers now more than ever, seeing that we’re going into our most active year of high school.</p>

<p>I find that although the conversation about school can get annoying, I don’t really come on here to talk. I have one other forum I go on and tumblr so I just stalk cc then leave.</p>

<p>I got my real schedule though:</p>

<p>0 block: ASB
1st block: US History</p>

<h2>(those will be the same both A and B days)</h2>

<p>A days:
2nd: AP Biology
4th: AP English Lang
6th: AP Psychology</p>

<p>B days:
3rd: Spanish 3
5th: World Religions
7th: Pre Calc</p>

<p>I got all the classes I signed up for. But is it good or bad that I have all my APs in one day?</p>
