i want to stay on the west coast, mostly california and i already have an idea of which colleges i wanted to attend: ucla, ucberk, ucdavis, usc, ucsantacruz, uwash, sf state, san jose state, u utah, maybe cornell but i dont think i have the stats.

what do you guys think of my choices and what do you recommend based of what i want to study

thanks!

is your sat score out of 1600 or 2400? And if so what are the scores in each section?

errr its out of 2400 cr: 530 math:510 writing: 490
but i plan on taking it again

help! plz guys!

I think you have a good shot at many of these schools, and I base this on your achievements. UCLA and UC Berkeley are probably reach schools, though. I don’t think you need to worry. When you think about it, you can’t change the past, so why are you so concerned about this? I think you have a good chance though.

well most of my friends are over 4.0 students and have awesome SAT scores, and they want to go to some of the same colleges I want, so I just wanted to know where I stood. Oh and I just got my SATII scores

Biology: 470
APUSH: 530
Math II: 510

In general, when deciding whether to retake, you can use the CollegeSearch on collegeboard.com and then see the average SAT scores for the colleges, to see how you stack up.

awesome thanks! are there any other colleges I should consider?

Well, your scores are really, really low for UCLA and UC Berkeley, and some of the other schools on your list. Only about 1% of their freshman classes had scores in that range. The fact that you’re a URM might help, but frankly, I think you have a slight chance at best at UCLA and UC Berkeley. The other UC schools are a bit of a reach or matches. Dunno about the rest, sorry.

try the ACT. it’s a substantially different test, and it’s accepted by almost everyone.
i’d definitely be more than slightly concerned about scores, though.

thanks i plan on taking the ACT senior year

btw i visited davis today it was really nice, i hope can get in
