UPDATE: Life at Loomis

Hello,

A couple of months ago I made a post about my prep school decision between Milton and Loomis, and I ultimately chose Loomis. Honestly, it has been my best decision ever. As a student at boarding school, we get a huge amount of homework daily in addition to our everyday afterschool sports. However, Loomis is a well-balanced enough school to have good social and academic time. Milton definitely has more work for any students who may want to apply there. We thankfully have codes of conduct that do not allow teachers to give us homework during holidays!!

Besides all that, here is an ACTUAL review of Loomis Chaffee coming as a current student. The campus is very lively, and Windsor is also a really safe area. Students are generally motivated and happy. A majority of the attending students are sports recruits for lacrosse, soccer, or ice hockey. The community of people is generally close-knit and friendly. As for anyone applying for financial aid, Loomis gives a lot of financial aid to people in the US. This comes true especially if you have a really strong talent. However, they do not give financial aid for international students, not even sports recruits.

Hi!

I’m currently applying for boarding schools, and Loomis Chaffee is actually one of the schools I am planning to apply for! I’m very nervous about the application system and I really need some tips.

So I have a few questions for you:

  • What do you think you did to make yourself stand out to Loomis?
  • What factor did you think played the biggest role in your acceptance?
  • Is there anything you said in your interview that made you stand out?
  • What were your statistics (if you don’t mind sharing)
  • What are some tips and/or suggestions you would give me?

Thank you so much for reading this.

[/quote] in the interview she was super honest , and just herself she did prep out learning about the schools and what she enjoyed. i guess the recomendation letters were good since she loves her academics. I think to stand out is be yourself, embrace your uniqueness, and pursue a passion, it does not matter what specific passion is what you really love. and good essays. her essays really reflected her personality and journey through her academic endevours.
