Work Experience:
Summer 2007: Office of Naval Research Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP). Awarded, through a competitive process, an 8-week, paid internship to perform research under the direction of Dr. Robert Williams in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (Bethesdas National Naval Medical Center). My work in this field of computational biophysics involved using super-computers to perform quantum-mechanical calculations in order to determine the interaction energies between proteins arranged at different distances and in different configurations. The overall goal of this research is to design better force fields to facilitate the creation of safer and more effective drugs.

January 2007-Present: Manage my own computer consulting and maintenance business to help local clients with computer problems.

Essay: About someone who influenced me: Wrote about my cousin who is the same age as me and who I have grown up beside since birth. He has a deletetion on chromosome 22 and so has many physical and mental issues, and was born into a poor, struggling family. Talked about even while I have helped him with all kinds of stuff, he has helped me more. --English teacher didn’t have much critiscim, thought it was “really good”

Also, my school nominated me for the Robertson Scholarship, does this have any impact on my chances?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
