Updates on the Princess of Wales

It will be interesting to see the long term fallout of this picture situation. Separate of how this same scrutiny has/has not been or will be applied to pictures outside of the BRF, and regardless of how loyalties shape perspectives on the motivations behind it, or what the outcome in terms of Catherine’s health and timing of her ultimate return ends up being, this unforseen (or not well thought out, depending on which pre-conceived notion you hold) chain of events stands to completely alter the longstanding contracts, policies, and guidelines for keeping paparazzi away and the media channels pictures are released through. This might get ugly…and dangerous. Ant the same time though, if they give up control of their RAW files, there are future implications there too with being controlled by media demands, maintaining a basic level of human privacy, etc. Definitely pressure for William under which these next steps need to be made in addition to possibly preparing much earlier to be King and worrying over an unhealthy wife and her future.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with Camilla taking her vacation. Or slowing down. I don’t like to go out every day and I’m not 76 years old.

When Charles became king, there was a fortune teller who ‘throws the asparagus’ and I guess things didn’t look too good for him health wise. She thought he’d only reign a short time (I think a year so she was wrong on the timing) but I think she may be right, that he waited 70+ years and will only be king a short time.

It wouldn’t matter WHAT H & M did or didn’t do, said or didn’t say about this mess. They will be relentlessly criticized for it regardless, as they always are. There are Twitter accounts, Tiktok accounts, Youtube channels, etc. whose sole stated reason for being is to promote hatred for them, Megan in particular. There is no way they will ever be allowed to exist un-reviled.

I agree. It does seem with each passing generation that the whole concept of ‘royalty’ becomes less palatable.

I have more sympathy and appreciation for Harry and Meghan and their exit. Because I do think she’s smart, she was privy to the “machine” and according to Harry’s book, he (and she) needed out.

I hope Catherine and her children are well.

I think that the Queen may have had long standing plans for a spring break with her children and grandchildren. She gets to go off and I hear she’s quite close with her kids even though they are not public people. So her absence made sense, no one could have known what was going to happen.

It’s not like the King doesn’t have staff to make his meals and transport him to his treatments for her to get away. And I suspect his blessing.

I don’t have any idea what is going on with the Princess and Prince of Wales. But I do think they need to hire a crisis PR firm.

I was going to post that! It popped up on my Facebook yesterday but i couldn’t find it today.

Bottom line is that the royals look both inept and woefully out of touch.

I always viewed the royal family as a sort of tourist attraction (who doesn’t like a good palace visit?) and they never particularly captured my interest – but this is fascinatingly bad. They desperately need a crisis manager to step in.

I actually do, too. Minor tweaks on photos are harmless. Completely redoing the backdrop not so much.

And that’s how you do it.

The interviewer, Michael Berkeley, mentioned a Willow Tree and a meadow. Misan Harriman did not bite at the bait. Three years later, they claim that he said something that he didn’t. Fortunately, he has the recording. The funny thing is that it is a Jacaranda, not a Willow.

I’m glad the willow was cleared up because I was straining my eyes to find a willow tree in that photo when I read the article yesterday!! :face_with_monocle::nerd_face:

Well, I wouldn’t know the difference. A tree is a tree

So I take it you wouldn’t bet a lot in Jeopardy if the category were “Trees?”

Jacarandas are beautiful when they are in bloom. (full disclosure, I pulled this image from a Google search. I have no idea if it has been doctored )

I didn’t know they were in LA! Our friends in South Africa send us photos. I’ll get back there some day at the right time of year!

Actually, I do know what a willow tree is, but in 26 years of life, I’ve never heard of a jacaranda. It looks pretty based on the picture, but don’t recall ever seeing one. I’m even looked it up in my mother tongue dictionary and had my husband (who’s also unfamiliar with it) look it up in his to see if maybe it’s a translation issue. Nope, it’s “jacaranda” there as well.

Since Jeopardy is in TOC finals, the clues seem ultra hard to me, so I’d be in 3rd going into FJ; I’d have to bet it all @MaineLonghorn
