Those are interesting. Some have put the video through AI detection software and the results say 98% AI generated. I saw a video yesterday where her ring clearly disappears from her finger in some of the shots. I don’t know enough about AI to have an opinion - I just find the speculation interesting.
I am curious about the fully blooming flowers in the background. It’s mid-March in England. Is everything fully blooming already? I live in the southern US - we’ve had a pretty mild winter, and things are just starting to pop up from the ground. The only things fully blooming are the cherry & pear trees. I wouldn’t be surprised if her background is green-screen.
Again - none of this detracts from her announcement and all of our wishes for her good health, but it does continue to speak to the capability of her PR team.
I hope she does have some agency but based on Princess Diana & Meghan Markle’s experiences with the firm, I remain skeptical.
I’ve read similar stuff. The ring disappearing claim is highly disputed. People who have put the video on slow mo and such argue against the claim that the ring disappears.
The thing is, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to learn this video has also been manipulated. The Firm has completely lost credibility imo. What that would actually mean is another thing altogether-what the ever loving heck is going on here?
Don’t lean into the conspiracy theories that the announcement was AI. It’s the same people who thought there was Q, the world is flat and that there was a pedophile ring out of a pizza restaurant.
Don’t believe it! That’s what they want you to do. It’s not true. It’s not.
They want you to so that when the next conspiracy happens, you’ll fall into that rabbit hole. And the next.
Some people (and to be clear, I’m not referring to participants here) clearly have too much time on their hands if they’re analyzing videos frame by frame
I watched the (rather blurry) flowers in the back and nothing moved at all so either exceptionally calm outside or green screen. Of course her hair didn’t blow in any breeze either so whether she was outside or inside who knows.
Yes, it does slide to the side at one point, which merely means she’s probably lost a few pounds since it was originally sized. My rings are loose now as well and do that.
People are indeed looking at every frame of the video and analyzing it. I think this will happen for the foreseeable future, no matter how straightforward it seems to most reasonable people.
No expert here and only see what I see. Watching her hands as she speaks tells you this is someone uncomfortable. Whether this is because speaking the truth out loud is troubling or she is nervous, either way, to me this video is of a scared woman. A mom scared for herself and her family. I don’t get a hoot whether there was a screen behind her, but give her a props for speaking out; probably something she didn’t want to do, or at least, not yet.
Agree…I think the public has sufficient information. IMO all that is left at this pont is to allow privacy and wish the Princess a speedy and full recovery.
But I do know about having cancer and having surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation while having small children and a full-time public facing job that you have to keep because you aren’t independently weathy, because I did it. I’ve talked to my children many times about how they experienced that time, they were never terrified. We were honest and positive. We told them what to expect and were matter of fact. Had things gone a different way with my treatment it would have been harder for them. And we would have continued to be be honest, phrase things in ways children can understand, and provided support as needed.
With my friends who have had cancer, there has been a difference between those who could be honest and positive and those who could not be both honest and positive, due to the nature of the diagnosis (e.g. pancreatic cancer, widely metastasized ovarian cancer.) And especially with the incurable diagnoses, the parents took pains to make sure that the children heard the news from them, not second hand. Typically the parents decided not to tell until all the tests were back (did not want to say “Hey, I might have an incurable fatal disease, but it’s only 90% sure”)
ETA: I don’t want to imply that there aren’t ways to reassure and support children, even in the face of a fatal parental diagnosis. Just that it’s a different situation when a cure is likely/possible than when it is essentially impossible.
If William is already stating he is unable to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa on Oct 21st due to Kate’s health struggles, I’m feeling her current health status might be much worse than her video showed.
The article states, "This is a meeting that the Firm is viewing as pivotal to maintaining its hold over the Commonwealth”.
But then the article says: “The insider added that despite Prince William potentially being able to stand in for his father, it is highly unlikely he would do so. It was reported in December that Prince William has significant plans to modernise the monarchy upon succeeding his father.
The future king is said to be devising a five-point plan aimed at bidding farewell to the late Queen’s and his father’s cherished Commonwealth.
“There was already a reluctance from both William and Kate to join the tour of the Commonwealth because they feel it’s an outdated institution,” the source disclosed.”
The last two paragraphs surprised me. The monarchy seems very unstable right now.
Of course, who knows how reliable the Nottinghamshire Live is?
Notwithstanding that question, the conference is in October - five months away. I know that before official visits, months of planning occur, but it concerns me that Kate would be having treatments five months from now, and that doctors presumably will still have Charles on travel restrictions.
But then the article implies that maybe William and Charles have different plans for the future of the monarchy, which I’m not sure I believe.
My biggest concern is that Kate’s cancer is serious.
