Good points. I just saw October and was surprised Kate’s health was even mentioned. Hopefully her preventative cancer treatment is going well.

And it was announced that William would make his first public appearance later this week since Kate’s announcement. I presume the children are back or about to be back in school.
And cancer recovery is very unpredictable. The changes in hormones, the fatigue, hair loss and other things just take some getting used to. I wouldn’t be surprised if she does no public appearances until the fall or even next year.

Don’t judge me, lol, but I follow some Reddits that keep pushing the theory that Kate is missing/severely injured/worse. They provide convincing information on how even the recent video is AI-generated, along with other anecdotal information to bolster the claim that it’s worse than anyone thinks.
I mean, they could be right who knows.

I don’t believe that, but I do think something is far more seriously wrong than they are letting on. If not that, she may be losing her hair and doesn’t want to be seen.

I really haven’t been following along (except here on CC), but this thought makes me very sad.
Me too. Can you imagine the damage to the royal family if this were true in any respect? And why would her family remain silent?

I really think she’s just very sick and going through chemo. That’s enough reason for her not to be out in public, isn’t it? Do people want photos of her in bed?

Add to that, she has three young children also.
Cancer treatment is seldom easy and in a straight line. I hope she will hit remission, and a somewhat normal life with her family….which may change her Royal duties perspective. That would not be surprising.

I agree! Once I heard her diagnosis, I assumed that we wouldn’t see pictures of her for quite some time.
I don’t know if this is a universality, but a good friend who just went through chemo for breast cancer told me her doctor said that your reaction to chemotherapy can be predicted based on your experience with morning sickness. The more you had the worse your reaction to chemo will be. So given that Kate had horrific morning sickness, I can only imagine how she might be faring during chemotherapy.

Some adjuvant chemotherapy is taken in the form of a pill and may not cause hair loss. She had already started it when she made the filmed statement and her hair looked the same.
My mom’s hair looked the same even after chemotherapy caused hair loss. She had a wig made before she lost her hair, because she wanted it to look exactly like her own hair.

I never had morning sickness, but had horrible side effects from chemo, some of which lasted a year after treatment ended.
And as far as not being in the public eye, I would do everything in my power to avoid people I knew. I can’t even imagine being so high profile and having to navigate something so scary and unpredictable.
I actually had a neighbor I bumped into at the grocery store ask me to remove my baseball hat so she could see my bald head!

My daughter is currently on an oral chemo cocktail.
It’s been horrible. Is it worse than chemotherapy infusions?
Idk. It’s pretty horrible. She’s working but does not have the strength to do more than the minimum.
I guess it’s great that her hair is growing back.
