Don’t fall for conspiracy theories. Just don’t go there. It’s not true. She has cancer. End. Of. Story.
Following a discussion doesn’t necessarily mean you believe it. Sometimes it’s fun to watch the frenzy. (I don’t do much Reddit, but the local town facebook discussions can be interesting.)
I’m sorry to hear that Deb22. That must be so hard to bear as a mom.
I have heard rumors that she might be here in the US getting treated at a flagship cancer hospital.
If so, would that ruffle feathers in the UK?
It might also explain why she was sitting alone on the bench and why the photo with her kids was edited.
Not at all. But she’s not in the US IMO
Unless one wants to also say that they CGI’d the Windsor background into the video.
I would hope that the UK would want her to get treatment for (whatever type of cancer) at the most progressive and best care center. There are all kinds of clinical trials, research studies, and experts in many cities across the world. The US just happens to have a more concentrated expertise for these types of hospitals/programs.
I understand that. I just wasn’t sure how much anti-US feeling there was amongst the British.
Just curious as to how you know she’s not in the U.S.
That is an interesting thought. For rare forms of cancer, or ones that require a specific surgery only some surgeons do, moving location might be warranted. However, for typical cancers, it is common practice for hospitals to share treatment protocols, even internationally. In the case of a non -extraordinarily rare but also not typical case, heads of cancer depts consult other experts and can get advice on experimental treatments. I would assume for the royal family they have gotten multiple expert opinions from across the globe and even if they were to decide on a US opinion with a different protocol than the UK uses, she would not need to leave the country. They drugs could easily come to her.
I saw this in the news and really like the addition of the corgis. I was surprised no one was there to represent the royal family but then I saw in the article that it’s not the first statue in her honour.
Speaking of honours I saw this news:
“Princess Kate has been appointed Royal Companion of The Order of the Companions of Honour. The Order was founded by King George V in 1917 to recognise outstanding achievements in the Arts, Sciences, Medicine and Public Service.”
I have been wondering when Kate will be made a member of the Order of the Garter. Right now there are 3 openings. I hope that Sophie, the Dutchess of Edinburgh will be made a member, as she and her husband have really stepped up while the King and Kate have been having treatments.
Members of the Royal Family are supernumerary to the 24. But I did think Kate would have been made a member by now.
Before yesterday, I would have said “not gonna happen” since those marrying into the RF aren’t generally awarded one, unless they married the monarch or heir. But yesterday he made the Duchess of Gloucester Lady of the Garter
I don’t know much about the various honours so can’t comment on it. I just thought it might be a positive sign. The article says The Order of the Garter service is June 17. I’m hoping Kate is able to make an appearance.
No inside info, but my guess is she won’t, and is also likely the reason she wasn’t awarded one this go round.
I ran across the following article:
I hope her recovery is going well.
