Hi,
I’ve already sent in my application and under the family information I put I have an older sister in college seeking a Bachelor’s Degree. However, my sister recently dropped out of college. I was wondering if that information is important enough to send an email to the schools that I applied to to have them update my application because they’re always like make sure to let us know if something in your application changes. But I don’t think this is really that important of information so would be emailing the colleges just be a waste of the admissions officers’ time or should I tell them this. Thanks. (By the way I’m applying to Ivy League schools and others with similar caliber.)

I think it wouldn’t hurt to simply sent that email to them informing them of this change. In my opinion, there is no disadvantage of sending them this update (except for probs like 20-30 min tops) while on the other hand, if for some reason they found this out and it had SOME effect, it could hurt you.

Where you will need to correct this information is on FA forms, FAFSA & Profile.
