Updating college app's with new GPA/class rank?

Is it worth sending an update to REACH colleges already applied to for new GPA and class rank after 1st semester HS senior year? Previous GPA was 3.93UW/4.25W and class rank was #24 out of 678. NEW GPA is 3.94UW/4.36W and class rank is #12 out of 676. I know it’s not THAT big of a difference, but DD worked very hard for it.

If the college requires a midyear report, it will be included there.

If they don’t require a midyear report, I would not send an update highlighting a one basis point improvement in GPA

This is not something worth sending unless specifically requested by the college, imo.

For schools that don’t decide til later, check to see if it’s asked for on your admission portal. They may ask for a mid year. I know for several, like Emory, my student had to.

Otherwise, if you send, it likely won’t hurt. Nor will it likely help. A school that looks at 6 semesters will look at 6 semesters.

Your stats were great either way.
