Updating Midterm reports

Hello all,

I just have an urgent question regarding midterm reports/marks.
I am an international applicant from Canada who will be applying to Yale via reg. decision.
I know that my Common App and supplement essays are due by Dec. 31st, but how about the midterm reports that are to be updated by the counselor?
Are they also supposed to be updated before the application deadline?
Recently, I emailed my counselor about this and she replied she will be updating marks after school starts in the New Year (January 7th ish), meaning this will be done after the deadline…
She is also responsible for sending in AP scores as well…
Could you please tell me whether this is ok or not?

Thank you so much!!

Relax. Mid-term reports are due whenever your high school has them available. If your school year starts in September and ends in June, like many US schools, mid-term reports are not available until the end of January.

AP scores are self-reported, so your guidance counselor doesn’t have to send them in at all, or by the December 31st deadline.

Thank you gibby.
Regarding AP scores, my counselor told me that the school will be reporting them. Is it normally like this? Because she told me I need to report SAT 1,II and TOEFL scores on my own but that the AP scores will be sent in by the school.

Normally, students need to send an “Official Report” of their SAT I and SAT II (or ACT) scores to colleges, as well as the TOEFL for international students who’s first language is not English. If you take the AP test that is administered by the College Board, students may self-report the scores on the Common App, so you don’t have to send an “Official” ACT Report to colleges. Some high schools administer the AP test, in which case the scores appear on your transcript, so the scores are sent from the high school to the college.

Thanks again! funny, haha my friend’s nickname is gibby
