UPenn chance me?

Hi!

I’m interested in majoring in physics and hopefully working at nasa. I want to go to UPenn and was wondering if they had a good physics department.

freshman yr: 4.0 weighted/uweighted (both semester)
sophomore yr: 4.14 weighted, 4.0 unweighted (both semester)
junior yr: 4.5 weighted, 4.0 unweighted (1st semester)

SAT I: 2220
SATII: none to date but I plan on taking math 2c, physics, korean, and perhaps apush

I volunteer about 2 hours every weekend and I’m in nhs, csf, and I’m a mentor on science alliance (where we mentor 5th graders and help them with their science fair project. Thankfully my kid wants to do something with physics). I joined the swim team freshman and sophomore year and plan on joining it again this year.

Anyways that’s pretty much it. Please let me know what you think, and also if I should retake the SAT reasoning test.

I dont think you need to retake SAT. I have a similar score and I asked a few adcoms about it…all of them said that once you cross the 2200 mark, it’s all the same. Upenn has a good physics dept, and I am sure you would love it(most people say that they do).

You have a great shot. Your transcript is brilliant. Although, lack of unique/great extra curriculars will lower your chances. I also have been told essays are more important to Upenn than scores. So, you need to work on that. Wait…I need to work on that too…i ll log out and work on those.

Good luck.

Your SAT is perfectly in range, but if you are pretty confident you can break 2250, retake it.

You have a pretty good chance, so keep working hard!

Thank you both for your input!
