Has anyone lost their hope about Penn’s waitlist? Like I was really hopeful that I had a decent chance because I really tried hard for the LOCI, but it seems like they didn’t even read mine :weary:

I mean there’s still hope and personally I’m still having hopes for it but I’ve been able to come up with a decent plan B (I’m actually a bit looking forward to a gap year). However I do think this and next week will be the end of it (maybe after but I highly doubt it).

Taking a gap year to reapply is risky.

Is there anyone who got accepted or got any mail regarding waitlist decision?

Hi all. Saw this forum, and decided to join. On May 24th I had contacted Admissions via email. My daughter was WL. I had asked if we had other awards or scholarships received should we send this info and would that help in the decision. This is what they replied… Not very encouraging:(

Students will be notified via the email they used to apply if they are admitted to Penn or if the Waitlist closes. We plan to use the waitlist, on a very limited and rolling basis, through June; however, we encourage all students to consider the options available to them and prepare in the event they are not admitted. We expect to provide updated information to all waitlisted applicants in mid-June regarding their status on the waitlist.

BTW, they had the word ā€œlimitedā€ as limited

Does anybody know if you can apply again as a first year this fall even if you’re enrolled at another college?

Probably not

Most likely because May 24th was after the release of the first wave so if any more decisions were made, it’ll be to cover up for those who choose to decline (in addition to the predicted yield rate) and that’s why the word ā€œlimitedā€ was used.

Nope.

But I saw this in another school’s website (you know which school I’m talking about):

" 1. If you have not already spent a full academic year or more in a college/university in the U.S. or Canada, then you must apply to X College as a first-year student."

I’m just asking cuz I saw this. I’m confused.

It basically has the same meaning, if you have spent a year in a college, you can’t apply as first year, if you have not then you can apply. (I checked with that other school too, I meant it message you yesterday)

Alright thanks so much!

Friday is the Gap Year Declaration deadline, right?

Can’t delete this

I’m quite sure it’s either today or tomorrow. I know that today is the deadline for the first wave.

Yes. The deadline is June 5th.

Then I think we shouldn’t expect something by Monday.

I think they’ll take the results of decisions from deadlines today and Friday and spend the week finalizing waitlist substitutions–then send out on Thursday like normal.
