UPenn (ED) 2024

Here are the ed statistics for this year

Good Luck to all! In the words of Dean Furda, ā€œā€¦ The reality for all students is that in the next year, you will end up somewhere that will both challenge and value your ideas, your talents, and your perspectives. And when you get there, that is when your journey of exploration, discovery, and growth will truly beginā€¦ā€.

Having gone through the college application last year with DD, I can tell you that no truer words have ever been uttered.

For those who get in, Welcome to Quaker Nation!

Three years ago, our son was admitted. We had spent so much time convincing ourselves that he didn’t have a chance… that we were halfway through the acceptance letter before we realized the music was playing and the word ā€œCongratulationsā€ was prominently displayed.

What’s interesting is that he looks remarkably similar to most of you. Luck or timing probably had as much to do with his acceptance as anything else. So yes, it can easily go either way…

So despite the limited number of spots, take pride in the fact that you earned the right to be legitimately considered. That is something you should be very proud of.

I GOT INTO M&T HOLY THIS IS AMAZING LETS GO

My son was admitted to Wharton. 35 ACT and 4.3 gpa. No hooks, other than coming from an under-represented state.

deferred :frowning:

1460 SAT (720 R/W, 740 Math); 4.15 GPA

Deferred from wharton
1590 SAT 3.92 U/W GPA

Does anyone know what percent of Ed applicants are deferred?

Deferred Wharton. ACT 36; Rank: 2/846. I have the same question about the deferral proportion as the poster above.

Son deferred to engineering. ACT 34, top of class (no ranking) and double legacy and brother current student.

Deferred Huntsman. SAT 1500. Lived in China for 14 years and the US for 3.
As for the deferral rate, UPenn usually defers around 30% of its ED applicants, accepts 20%, and rejects 50%. Good luck guys - please view this as an opportunity. You have a decent chance of getting accepted, on top of being open to unlimited options for college.

D got into Wharton!

SAT2, 800 (Math2), 800(Chemistry) 780 (Physics)

Does anyone know what are the chances of deferred kids being accepted in rd?

Quick question for those that got accepted. Did you provide a 3rd other letter of rec? I’m feeling like I should have. Deferred. 1580SAT, 4.0GPA.

Accepted at Wharton!!

1490 SAT (790 English, 700 Math) with 16/24 essay score
690 Math Level 2 (didn’t submit)
700 Math Level 1 (didn’t submit)

I’m an international student from Indonesia. I also submitted a 3rd additional recommendation letter from my internship supervisor since my internships were a huge part of my application.

Honestly, I have no idea how I got in but I’m unbelievably grateful! #UPennBound

@ifysa32 according to the faq Penn gave with the deferral letters, about 17% of those deferred to regular decision were eventually accepted
