huntsmanED and freaking out!!!
M&T ED and thoroughly discouraged. Anyone else?
Does your UPenn applicant portal shows SAT subject and/or AP scores?
Iāve self-reported all my test scores on the common app. UPenn applicant portal shows SAT and ACT scores but not the SAT subject scores.
When I called the admissions office, Iām receiving different answers (self-reporting is fine or SAT subject scores need to be sent by the college board or give it time to show up on the portal if you self-reported them).
I do not know if they are in the system but their applicant portal does not simply show the subject scores or if Iām expected to report them from the college board. Hence, wanted to check if anyone is seeing SAT subject scores on the UPenn applicant portal.
My subject tests showed up under additional testing, but it only states the date of the test, not the score itself. It should be under the regular SAT scores.
@guitar127 Thank you for confirming. Iām seeing them now as you described after rushing the score reports.
Looks like, self reporting does not completely work. Still need official scores for subject test scores.
@Novice2020, How long did it take for your to send the score and get updated in your penn portal. I am also in the same situation that I did self report subject test and just now ordered official score.
Just found this forum and Iām glad I did. I got a likely letter for SEAS and wanted to meet some of my potential future classmates! Good luck and I hope to meet all of you on campus soon!
Hey Jackw3, Fellow ED applicant here. Congrats on the letter!
When did you submit your ED application and when did you get your letter?
@Jackw3 I am confused. Why would you get a likely letter if applying ED? My understanding is that likely letters are for RD applicants to hook them into accepting the college. ED applicants already say that they will attend.
Hi guys, did anyone get an email from UPenn or from an interviewer about an interview? Or both? My friend who applied to a different college got an email from the college right away that an interviewer would be contacting them. But I didnāt get an email like that from UPenn, and havenāt gotten anything from an interviewer either. Please respond because Iām wondering if there was a glitch with my application or something.
Likely Letters are also used for recruited athletes in the ED round.
The interview is a small thing, roughly 90% of applicants receive one but sometimes if there isnāt an alumnus in your area that wants to do an interview, you donāt get one. It really isnāt an integral part of the application. So donāt worry!
Itās misleading to say the interview āis a small thing.ā The interview is āimportantā according to the CDS. Our family took the position that every part of the application matteredāinterview, essays, letters of rec.
Take a deep breath, @Pepperoncini18. My D wasnāt immediately contacted for an interview either. As I recall, alumni interview reports for ED applicants werenāt due until Nov. 21. There is still time. But, if there are no alumni in your area then Penn may that into consideration too when reviewing your application.
Regarding the ā90% are interviewed,ā do they only interview people who have passed the first round of vetting? Or do they strive to interview everyone who has applied?
@mountainsoul and @Tuneup366 thank you both for the encouragement! I had read that not everyone gets an interview, but I live in a relatively big city (where I assume there must be alumns) so I still wonder. Has anybody gotten an email from UPenn about the interview? Or is there no email about the interview until the interviewer emails? I know that for some other colleges the applicant gets an email from the college saying that an interviewer will be in touch, but I didnāt get anything like that either from UPenn.
@Octagon @Pepperoncini I didnāt get an email from Upenn either regarding the interview. My interviewer simply emailed me and asked me if I would be interested in partaking in the interview. Also the interview is not an indicator of making it past a āscreeningā. Not receiving one does not mean that you have been written off as they strive to interview everyone. Also itās possible that your interviewer is still busy with interviews and has yet to get around to you as thatās usually the case in larger cities with many applicants. I wouldnāt sweat it! Whatever happens will be taken into account with your application! Interview this year have to be done by November 25th so there is still some time as well.
Hello !! Where exactly is the application status in the portal? I see that there are green ticks next to all the items on the checklist, is that all?
How do I know if it is ready for review? I canāt find status on my application portal.
The application status should be displayed on the main page when the decisions are released, which I believe is on December 13th. If all of the required materials are submitted (App, Supplement, Testing, Rec forms) the application should be up for review. So yes, if there are only check marks I think you should be finished.
@Tuneup366, thank you so much for your reply and reassurance! Maybe Iāll hear from an interviewer before the 25th, so Iāll stay hopeful. But Iāll try my best to just not worry about it if it doesnāt happen.
@Pepperoncini18 The time you are contacted about the interview may have to do with when you applied and who is available in that area. Most likely you will be interviewed since almost all applicants are, but you may not be contacted right away. The people in charge of organizing interviews have to decide on and contact interviewers.
