UPenn ED Class of 2021 Discussion Thread

@LevTolstoy I’m also first gen! and proud!

@sajeunesse i live around 30 mins away from Brookline, too! what town do you live in, if you don’t mind me asking? i promise i’m not a creep haha, just curious!

that’s great! i’m just curious if u have similar scores to mine @PennHopefull33 33 ACT/780 Physics/760 Math II/4APUSH/4LIT (without having actual AP course for both LIT and APUSH)

so if i sent both my act scores (super score of 34) but i scored 33 on the first one and 32 on the second one would they still superscore? Cuz i didn’t indicate my superscore on the common app since i took the last one in october when the results hadn’t came out.

Does first gen mean American College completion or naw

Like what if ur dad got a degree from another country

guys, you can go to the DP and under Admission column, there are past admission press release…every year there are more than 10% of freshmen are first generation

http://www.thedp.com/article/2016/03/regular-decision-release-class-of-2020 last year is 13%

Hello everyone! I’ve never posted on this thread before. I’ve been trying to avoid CC as it usually just makes me nervous, but I wanted to talk to some people who are feeling my pain right now…I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep much until Friday! I applied to CAS.

@bfc2017 Welcome to the thread! I think we’re super nervous lol but somehow posting on this thread actually makes me slightly less stressed haha. I applied to CAS as well for International Relations. What about you?

@BigJah I think most colleges define First Gen as neither parents having a degree or its foreign equivalent.

where are you guys applying if Penn doesn’t go your way?

@LevTolstoy Columbia, UChicago, the three DC schools, and a couple others. You?

@LevTolstoy uchicago, carnegie mellon, florida schools, possibly villanova and/or tufts?

@BigJah I think most colleges also count Associates degree (2 year trade school) as first gen but your parents can’t have a 4-year complete Bachelor degree

yeah nyu,tufts, 2 dc schools, columbia, babson & a few others @masquerade98

@masquerade98 Cool! I applied Undecided-Humanities, thinking about Communications, History, or Political Science.

@LevTolstoy I’ll have to submit 7 more applications when Penn rejects me  Aside from Penn, my list is Barnard, Columbia, UVA, Princeton, Tufts, NYU, Villanova, George Washington, and Georgetown

@LevTolstoy I’m also First-Gen! I applied to CAS. Hopefully if we get in, we get invited to Penn CAP

My interviewer drove an hour and a half to come to my town to talk to me I lowkey felt bad…
