UPenn ED Class of 2021 Discussion Thread

@ys123 yep.

@AColicchio Hi! May I ask where I can see the number (1300 Ed students)?

Does anybody know how many people are accepted into Wharton ED?

if anybody wants a laugh I recommend the @yungbenfranklin insta, I’m in tears

Stay positive guys, always! <3

So I just got featured here: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/04/phishtrain-founder-17-year-old.html and sent it in to Penn to add to my application yesterday. They replied and added it to my file. Do you think this is a good sign since decisions are already decided and they wanted to keep it on file for future reference?

Also I accidentally clicked on “Applyingfor Financial Aid” on their portal the other day even though I’m not. I sent in a FAFSA but have not done their form and received no reply, but I am not overly concerned.

@mplewis1 My thinking is that it probably doesn’t mean much how they responded to you. I mean if it really does mean something then it could also be indicative of a deferral! May just be like mandatory procedure or something, you know? Anyway, I wouldn’t think too much about that, there’s not much time left 'til you’ll know anyway! :slight_smile:

@1622343 my thoughts exactly

@mplewis1 but it’s still very impressive that you did that and I’m sure they will recognise it. I’m assuming you put your business somewhere on your application beforehand as well which can only help you. Good luck :slight_smile:

@1622343 yeah I pretty much based my whole application around my business as I am applying to Wharton… fingers crossed!

@mplewis1 That’s so cool! Congrats on your achievement, and I hope you get the recognition you deserve from Penn!

@mplewis1 I thought it’d be Wharton haha, yep fingers crossed!!

hey guys. I realize it doesn’t matter anymore but I was just wondering. I’m applying to wharton and have ran my own ebay business since I was 14 (10th grade), im 17 and a senior now. I have received over 100 transactions and $25,000 gross revenue in sales. Do you think the admissions people would like this a lot or would it be only a small bonus.

Thanks, stressing like im sure most of you are too :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you guys really think that if we didn’t get the financial aid confirmation email it means that we weren’t accepted? Also, in order to get the financial aid email would we just need to fill out the FASFA or also the PFAS found in the applicant portal?

I would NOT read anything into any differences in financial aid requests/notifications. I really think they are separate processes. Any inconsistencies in communication are probably random. Just my hunch.

Guys I called admissions and they said that the email specifying that they have reviewed financial aid information comes after decisions come out and are entirely separate from admissions so no need to worry.

How does recruiting work for Penn? I’m sure it helps but how much? Specifically sprint football? Anyone know how much weight it has? Do coaches have a lot of weight in the decision?

hey guys so apparently two years ago, Penn sent out scarfs to those who got in. Did they do anything similar last year? and will they do something like that for this year to accepted students?

@mplewis1 Hm that’s interesting. I didn’t know you could send in other material like articles and stuff.
