UPenn ED Class of 2021 Discussion Thread

You’re overestimating the amount of free time AO’s have. I’s sure they’s rather spend time with their families when they are away from work instead of reading this thread.

@skiing26 haha… so true!! This is definitely the most stressful time in my entire life so far, which is weird because I haven’t really been that busy after submitting my application. It is such accumulated stress and uncertainty, I guess. I had no past experience in handling them. I still go to school like usual, my normal life isn’t affected by anything, but when I am alone, everything freaks me out. Not simply about the college application related stuff, but also other things, like school work, which I was never worried about before. I don’t know if any of you guys is related to this situation. I am probably too fragile, haha

@financemajor37 Apparently you can miss up to 4 questions on Bio E and still get an 800 so your score might be better than you think.

@arronn I totally agree with you. I feel like I’ve been obsessing over things more than usual recently lol

Which colleges are y’all applying to?

I’m applying to the college as a bio major. @justino12

when you’re so upenn that you make its logo your phone wallpaper

Any chance we hear after the 16th? The 9th is technically just as ‘Mid-December’ as the 21st

I doubt it immensely.

Did anyone not submit SAT II scores?? I took the ACT and didn’t realize they still recommended you submit them if you weren’t submitting the SAT… Do you think this could hurt me?

@USPanther @andpeggyy Here is page describing the new courses (which sound like important skills to me!) also don’t forget about the required senior capstone course or project… https://undergrad-inside.wharton.upenn.edu/requirements-2017/leadership-journey/

So - if I were to get into penn, what grades would I be expected to keep? Cause Lit and Calc are looking like high Cs to low Bs rn

@2021Hopeful same in those courses too

@2021Hopeful If you got into penn, they wouldn’t have as high standards for your grades but if you were deferred your grades would be more important since they would be considered for your application in RD

Either way, aim for a low B no matter what. I’m not sure if Penn would rescind for a C, but I would definitely not risk it. Try your best to get above a B.

@collegescary666 I applied without SAT II’s too, Prepscholar said they would be “considered” and when I called admissions they said it’s not a big deal. I took subject tests this morning for other schools though so if I need them I’ll have them for RD

GUYS DECISIONS ARE COMING OUT ON THE 15th. My parents just attended a UPenn event for alumni and that is what they were while they were there

@stresseddd Were they told when the official announcement would come out to confirm that? I’m still somehow hoping for the 9th or the 12th but I suppose the 15th isn’t bad… It’s not the 16th at least… Although that does mean I’ll have to go to school the next day

@masquerade98 no they weren’t told that, hmm maybe they’ll announce it towards the beginning of the next week. Yeah I’m kinda frustrated that it’s on a Thursday too

I have my theatre play on the 15th. Man good thing I have a part that requires me to cry

@plshelpmicollege ugh I’m sorry! Good luck in your play!!
