Upenn Transfer fall 2010

Joe:I talked to Eddrena on the phone because I have a different issue, but it sounded like it shouldn’t be a problem. I would suggest you call her. Since the mail situation is different for anyone. Plus, Eddrena was super nice on the phone.

shootdapuck: Did you found out about your housing assignment yet?

haha nope! I plan on calling today during my lunch break. Am I the only one who didn’t apply for a residential program who has not been assigned a room yet?

shootdapuck: I’m in the same boat as you. Please post how your conversation with housing goes, because I’ve called a few times and been unable to get a definite answer.

Kyle: I talked to housing today (215-898-8271), and at least for MY case, I will be hearing next week or so about my assignment (I have an email to confirm it). I had to wait so long because my top choices were all in the hotly-contested high-rises. Since I checked the “put me anywhere” box, Mark Griswold (the Assignment Specialist) said that I WILL have an on-campus room, and won’t need to worry about off-campus housing. If you are still in doubt, give the number above a call, as everyone’s case might not be different. Also, keep in mind I did NOT apply for a special residential program.

hey fellas, ive been working around with the XCAT site and i was wondering about smth. there’s that course matching thing which pairs one of ur courses with a Penn equivalent. I took a stat class last semester and it listed it as ECON103 (statistics for econ or smth). im goin into wharton and we need to take stat101. i looked at the respective syllabus and it seems like Stat101 matches my stat class better than Econ103. should I just use the “not listed” tool and request it as a Stat course at Penn? also, if that doesnt work out shud I just take my stuff at the start of school and talk to the department? and one more thing, is it the credit office/stat office that determines the course or my wharton advisors?

I also took a Stats class last year and I couldn’t upload the transfer credit request on XCAT. I actually tried uploading my Stats docs to the Mathematics Department anyway, but because only Wharton has Stats classes, my transfer credit application was denied by the Math Department.

Wharton is the only school that hasn’t jumped on board to XCAT credit evaluations, so you’ll have to pick up a transfer credit form from the undergraduate office once you get on campus. Then you can apply for Wharton Stats credit.

(I tried getting them to physically mail or e-mail me the form to get it over with already, but they said that there’s no rush and I should just do it once I’m in Philly… do let me know if you’re successful in getting a copy!)

Hey, I know this is kind of late, but I just found out about the XCAT thing. Were we supposed to upload all our previous credits on XCAT already!!! Because when I called the admissions office, they told me that we would be doing credit evaluations once we got there in the fall… Also, am I the only one not getting any type of letters/emails from Penn?? Becaues the only thing I actually got from Penn was the admission letter and an email from a student who said she was my transfer student advisor… Any info regarding this would be mucho appreciated!!!

Hey Paperrev, direct message me your e-mail and I’ll forward you the General Info doc I received from the Transfer Coordinator.

I just sent you a PM. Thank you so much! :D

Hey everyone,

I know this may be too much to ask, but I am applying for transfer next year and was wondering if anyone that got accepted could share their essays with me?

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it

Hey fellas, I got a few questions:

should we address our transcripts to Eddrena or just to the Office? I sent it to the office.

should we list all our courses on XCAT or should we wait until the transfer credit evaluation on upenn campus?

thanks!

Hey @Ruthless2009 , is it possible to transfer into Wharton with a 3.8 gpa and taken up to calculus 3 Freshman year
